Taking on this distinctive runner, UBIQ took the same group of influences as they did for the ‘Midnight Bloom’, channeling their admiration for mother nature and the dark hours to create this moody ‘Nightshade’ rendition.
However, this reworking goes deeper. Nightshades are a plant family that are notorious for being highly toxic. Used throughout the Middle Ages as medicines, poisons and hallucinogens, its name is a derivation from the Old English ‘nihtscada’ meaning ‘unrecorded night’.
The trainer itself is constucted from plush grape leaf green leather uppers with a perforated toebox and neon green accents. Coupled with black hiking laces that complement the black side panel branding and a bright white split tongue that works tremendously well with the branding contrast midsole, the shoe is finished with a grey heel panel and subtle 3M hints throughout.
